Declaration on accessibility
Accessibility declaration for mero.de
Mero strives to make its online services accessible to all users. With the entry into force of the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) on June 28, 2025, we are committed to meeting the requirements for digital accessibility.
Scope of application
This accessibility statement applies to the above-mentioned website. As our website integrates digital services in the area of electronic commerce, it is subject to the provisions of the BFSG.
Accessibility status
This website is partially compliant with the national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz – BFSG). Full conformity with the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformity level AA is aimed for.
Non-accessible content
We are constantly striving to improve the compatibility of our website with digital accessibility requirements. The opportunity to give us feedback also serves this goal. The review of compliance with the requirements is based on a self-assessment. According to this self-assessment, the website is not fully compliant with the aforementioned requirements. We are actively working to remove further barriers. The content listed below is currently not accessible or only partially accessible:
- In some cases, content cannot be fully perceived by people who are blind or have poor eyesight, for example because alternative texts for images are missing or insufficient. Even for users who are color-blind, certain content may not be easily recognizable due to insufficient color contrasts. Text is not always sufficiently easy to perceive, and the complexity of images and videos that visualize text information can be a barrier.
- Some elements are not accessible and cannot be operated using the keyboard, or there are no clear visual focus indicators to show which element is currently active. This makes navigation difficult for users who cannot use a mouse.
- Optimizations are still needed for reading aloud by appropriate software and for users of assistive technologies in general, as the semantic structure is not always optimal or the HTML lang attribute is missing. Some headings and texts are not clearly understandable for everyone, and not all content is offered as an alternative in plain language.
- Embedded content from third-party providers (e.g. social media integrations or external plugins) may not be completely barrier-free, over which we have only limited influence.
We would like to point out that we are constantly striving for accessibility. Due to the large number of pages or human error, problems may occasionally occur. We apologize for any inconvenience and ask you to report it to us.
Preparation of this declaration
This declaration was created on July 23, 2025. The accessibility status of the website was assessed by means of a self-assessment based on the information provided and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA.
