The world’s largest chemical company, BASF SE Ludwigshafen, has built a new office and conference building at its headquarters right next to Gate 2. Covering a total area of 42,000 m², the building has seven upper floors and two basement floors, providing space for 1,300 office workstations as well as numerous meeting and conference rooms with accompanying interpreting booths. To ensure a flexible and future-oriented building structure, the office and conference rooms were equipped with a combination of hollow and access floors. All technical rooms and interpreter booths were completely fitted with raised floors due to the high and constantly changing installation requirements. On the top floor, a heavy-duty hollow floor with a point load of 20,000 N was installed to accommodate the facade cleaning system.
