4000sqm hollow floor laid onto specially designed acoustic pads
The biggest issue was a constricted tall narrow building in Central London, all material’s and personal had to go to lift for access, though very challenging at times our modular and palletised system was much easier to move and install than using screed, had they used screed by the time it would have got to the top it would have set!
Every wall had an angled cut, hardly any wall was at 90 degree to the next so with the interlocking joint it meant that we could guarantee a good strength and joint even with small triangular cuts.
Further advantage’s was our floor could be installed to very accurate floor level with no further preparation required, to accommodate varying floor finishes like timber and stone.
In some areas the floor slab was very poor, there was no room for a pedestal so steel shims were used.
Credit should also be given to the skill and commitment from our site Supervisor whose skill and expertise made the project a success.
