Located opposite to Abu Dhabi International Airport, “Masdar” is a planned city project which is being built by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company who aims to develop “Masdar City” as the world’s first zero-carbon, zero-waste city, in 6 square kilometers of desert land. Masdar City will also be home to “Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (M.I.S.T)”.
MERO Middle East has been chosen to take part in three projects in M.I.S.T: A 42 m high “Wind Tower” structure designed for natural ventilation of building courtyards, a 2,000 sqm “Library Roof Structure”, which will be the first zinc clad roof in Middle East, and the “Roof of the Institute Atrium Spaces” with recyclable aluminum cladding comprising PV panels on top to generate electricity for institute use.
